Memorial Day weekend – PIRTEK Reflects

No nation can remain secure and free without a military. It’s a sad reality, but a reality nevertheless: Freedom has many enemies around the globe. We deeply appreciate those courageous men and women who volunteer to defend this great nation against such forces.

Those who serve in the U.S. Armed Forces make profound sacrifices. And of course, some sacrifice everything – including life itself.

This Memorial Day, PIRTEK wants to remember the multitude of Americans who breathed their last in the service of country. We set aside this day, not just to enjoy cookouts or watch sports, but also to reflect on the brave souls who help secure the blessings of liberty.

Chris Kyle, the famed “American Sniper,” was one who sacrificed all. PIRTEK has been honored over the years to support the organization dedicated to his name: The Chris Kyle Frog Foundation.

The organization has developed programs that help military and first-responder couples strengthen their relationships. PIRTEK has been a supporter of the Frog Foundation’s Revitalization Retreats, which give these couples an opportunity to get away, recharge and enjoy themselves. Couples have access to the Mastering Your Marriage experience, a relationship-building program in partnership with the Diana R. Garland School of Social Work at Baylor University and The University of Texas (UT) at Austin School of Social Work.

PIRTEK has also been pleased to sponsor racing events with the Frog Foundation – including an Indianapolis 500 sponsorship – that feature Kyle’s wife, Taya, as an official ambassador.

In addition to our sponsorships, we’ve made it our policy to hire veterans whenever possible, and we offer them special incentives to franchise ownership. It’s one way of saying “thank you.”And so, we take time out this weekend to reflect on those fine people lost in all the wars and conflicts over America’s relatively brief history. We think of Arlington National Cemetery and all the unmarked, unadorned places that contain the remains of our fallen men and women. We invite you to do the same.
